In January 1942, the infamous Wannsee Conference took place, which assigned a new role to the Terez\u00edn ghetto - it was to serve as an \"old-age ghetto\" for Jews from Germany and Austria. In the already harsh conditions of Terez\u00edn, the living conditions for the old prisoners were even harsher. The old people, weakened by age and health problems, faced not only totally inadequate food, sanitary deficiencies and poor housing conditions, but also separation from their families and isolation from other prisoners. Lecture Radana Rutov\u00e1 <\/strong>from the Terez\u00edn Memorial will focus not only on the living situation and position of the old prisoners within the forced community of the Terez\u00edn ghetto, but also on the support activities that were intended to alleviate their suffering at least partially.<\/p>

We would like to do so directly in the ongoing exhibition of drawings by Gisela Rottonara, who, when she made her drawings in Terez\u00edn, at the age of 69 belonged to this somewhat neglected group of prisoners.
