Discussion with David Haas, grandson of Bedřich Fritta

„It's a human thing to head in a direction where we live without hate and in love.“ In the Terezín ghetto, painter Bedřich Fritta created a book for his son Tomíček on his third birthday. In a sense, it has become a canonical work of Terezín art, alongside the children's drawings from the ghetto and the opera Brundibár. David Haas travels to his ancestral homeland from his home town of Berlin to educate students about his family's story and Jewish culture. The debate with David Haas will be moderated by Tereza Štěpka from Antikomplex, a non-profit organization dedicated to critical reflection on the history of Czech lands. A book for Tomíček's 3rd birthday will be available for purchase at the event.
