International competition for the next building of the Moravian Jewish Museum Mehrin four world leading studios: the Bjarke Ingels Group (DK), MVRDV (NL), Cino Zucchi Architetti (IT) and Kengo Kuma & Associates (JP). The nine-member jury, headed by architect Josef Pleskot, finally unanimously awarded the the victory to the Japanese architect, who, according to her, offered the "greatest content and formal openness', thus most accurately meeting the expectations of the contracting authority. Our permanent exhibition offers several large-scale visualisations of the design as well as a 3D model. There is also a very interesting interview with architect Kengo Kuma, who gave us a pre the opening of the exhibition of competition designs at the Architecture Gallery in Brno and where he talks about why chose this solution for Brno, but also more generally about the functions that the museum should fulfil in the 21st century. The interview is conducted in English with Czech subtitles.
