Get to know Little Mehrin

  • We are a cultural-educational memory institution in Brno at Vídeňská 14, which
is run by the Mehrin Foundation.
  • We organize interesting exhibitions, meetings and discussions with people who have something to say about Judaism and Jewish Moravia.
  • The exhibition space of 200 square meters on two floors has undergone a major reconstruction according to the beautiful design of the architectural studio Kamkab!net by Radim Horák.
  • We offer excellent kosher wine from the winery for refreshment at events in Malý Mehrin
Hafner from Mönchhof in Lower Austria.
  • We started operations on 1 March 2023

Current exhibition

Eyes open, hands ready

The exhibition, based on the story of Třebíč native Arnošt Beneš, will remind not only the existence of one of the fundamental Moravian Jewish communities, but above all the personality of a man gifted with many talents - Arnošt Beneš was a photographer, painter, filmmaker, cabinetmaker, carver, collector, accountant and sales representative of the Grünberger company.
The visually conceived exhibition will present the Beneš family in the context of Třebíč's history and present. There will be never published artistic photographs and paintings by Arnošt Beneš, excerpts from his silent films from the late 1930s with unique commentary by his grandchildren, complemented by personal objects and documents from the family archive.
